About this Event
This course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, ABA therapists, and special instructors. It will be a 2-hour learning experience designed for clinicians who would benefit from early childhood behavior management strategies. The course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to manage children’s behaviors throughout the therapeutic process.
Participants will understand common behavioral challenges in children ages birth to 5 and their impact on communication, play, and learning. They will explore evidence-based behavioral management strategies that support self-regulation, engagement, and positive social interactions. Participants will learn how to adapt strategies to meet the diverse needs of children with varying developmental, sensory, and communication profiles. Additionally, they will gain skills to collaborate effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams to create consistent and supportive behavioral management plans across home, therapy, and educational settings.
Learning Objectives:
After completing the course, clinicians will be able to:
- Identify Key Behavioral Challenges: Participants will be able to list at least three common behavioral challenges in children ages birth to 5 and describe their impact on communication, play, and learning
- Implement Evidence-Based Strategies: Participants will be able to identify at least two evidence-based behavioral management strategies
- Adapt Approaches for Diverse Needs: Participants will be able to evaluate a child’s behavioral profile and modify at least one behavioral management technique to suit the individual’s needs
- Collaborate with Families and Teams: Participants will be able to create a collaborative behavioral management plan that includes at least two strategies for engaging families

About The Presenter:
Molly Dresner is a Speech and Feeding Therapist. She is ASHA Certified and trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding. She is also the mom of two young boys, Grey & Jack. She received her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and her Bachelors in Speech and Hearing Science from George Washington University. She has worked in Early Intervention as a therapist and an evaluator since 2013. Additionally, she works in private practice with pediatrics. She authored The Speech Teacher’s Handbook, You’re So Nice, Baby, and We All Fall Down. She specializes in building early language skills, picky eaters & problem feeders, social-behavioral struggles, and family training.
