Amanda is a Director in the at CGLaw. She joined the firm in 2011 and became a Director and owner in 2014. Amanda has extensive experience across property and transactional matters, including commercial and rural property transactions, large business and company transactions, property development projects and complex titling arrangements.

Amanda’s journey into the profession wasn’t a conventional one. Growing up in a rural community and attending a country high school, she was often told that those who “wanted to become something” should leave for a better education - she chose to stay and still later became the first in her family to attend university when she pursued a law degree in Brisbane.

Those early experiences shaped a career defined by resilience and backing her own judgement – from leaving a large city firm to return closer to home and work more closely with clients, to becoming a law firm owner in the same year she welcomed her first daughter.

Along the way, Amanda has also contributed strongly to the community, including serving on the board of the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba and spending many years on the management committee of Protea Place, advocating for long-term funding in order to support vulnerable women in our region.

In this session, Patrick will guide a candid discussion about the lessons Amanda wishes she knew earlier – from navigating client relationships and career decisions to the practical wisdom that only experience can teach.
