Maya Verlaak’s Formation sees the solo pianist in a battle to correct the musical mistakes of a virtual singer.
Joss Smith’s to greater and greater heights uses the momentum of functional harmony to gradually push the four instrumentalists into the highest extremes of their registers. The music may find itself reaching a plateau but the harmony’s need to resolve leads to a continual climb in tension.
During Ascent, Ear Transplant confront effort, process, and transcendence through chamber music for clarinet, guitar, piano, and flutes, as well as giving the world premiere of Ragnhild May’s new work for her self-built sculptural instruments
