djamtomorrow
Following an encounter with a large already-electrified mbira in a store in Harare some years ago while learning traditional mbira, djamtomorrow’s mission became to bring the sound of the Zimbabwean mbira to those who may not have heard what it can do when amplified, processed, looped and micro-looped. The hand forged keys and resonant sound board provide a rich source for the effects chains to work with to produce improvised pieces of layered and evolving textures recalling the contexts he has played and heard mbira over the years.
