People with respiratory conditions often find exercise challenging due to limited breathing capacity. One helpful option is the use of e-bikes, which allow riders to adjust the level of mechanical assistance to reduce breathlessness. E-bikes are therefore enjoyable to use and offer an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional transport. These factors may support long-term exercise adherence while improving quality of life and contributing to environmental sustainability.
You are invited to attend this event if you:
live with a respiratory condition, or are a clinician, charity volunteer, researcher, cycling organisation representative, policymaker, cycle manufacturer, member of the police, or another stakeholder interested in respiratory health and active travel.
The purpose of this event is to gather your views and experiences of respiratory conditions, exercise, and cycling. Your input will help us to prioritise, plan, and deliver research into e-bike use for people with respiratory conditions.
We will also provide:
- Demonstrations of different types of e-bikes
- An overview of current research in this area
- Opportunities for discussion and shared learning
“No cycling experience needed”
