About this Event
The Santa Monica Pier’s Día de los Muertos celebration returns for its fourth year with a two-day public art installation from November 1-2, 2024. This family-friendly event honors the people, places, and ideas important to Santa Monicans, featuring a community altar by local artist Sylvia Sanchez. Presented in partnership with Northgate Market, Cirque du Soleil KOOZA, and Mariasol, the event invites Pier-goers to contribute to the altar inside the Merry Go-Round building.
Supported by the LA County Board of Supervisors and the Department of Arts and Culture and the Mexican Consulate, the celebration also brings back "Letters of Life," an interactive art installation where the community shares memories, photos, and stories of loved ones, displayed on digital murals surrounding the historic carousel.

5:00 PM – Pan de Muerto Decorating Class for Kids with a Mask & Goodie Bag to Take Home!
