Riley is turning 33, so the night will be 33% self indulgent! That means Riley will teach whatever the heck they think would be fun for 1/3 of the classes (L4, specifically) and every third social dance will be a song they like that isn't played for WCS otherwise (the other two songs in each mini set will be right down center plate common WCS songs).

L2: Beyond the Basics

For those who have attended at least one introductory level course at DYOS or another studio/event.
Learn beginner+ and intermediate patterns with a focus on repetition and developing comfort with each pattern.
8:05-8:35 pm
L3: Skills & Drills
🏠🔦 “Spotlight Ballroom”
This class will introduce you to movement, connection, and rhythm theories, skills, and methods. It will be a time to focus on skills via drills. This class will have less music and actual dancing than the average dance class, but will develop awareness and intention in your approach to WCS!
Pre-Requisite of L2 Patterns:
--> Tuck Turn (sugar and/or passing)
--> Spinning Side Pass (inside roll and/or free spin)
--> Starter Step
--> 8-Count Whip
8:40-9:10 pm
L4: Artistic Application
🏠🔦 “Spotlight Ballroom”
Learn the skills for improvised, partnered musical expression with 2-3 applications of L3 Class material. Focus will be responding to the music and your partner!
This class will help you cultivate those magical "How can this dance be improvised??" moments.
Pre-Requisite:
--> General comfort navigating social dances

For those who are brand new to West Coast Swing or developing a basic pattern vocabulary. No partner or experience required!

Feat. the Power Half Hour (half songs for half an hour), community building activities, jams, and more!
