Our third installment of DYKE FILM NIGHT features a bit of heartbreak that many baby dykes know too well; being in love with your straight best friend </3
ALL OVER ME (1997) follows our protagonist Claude as she slowly falls for her bestfriend Ellen. Though Ellen returns some of the unspoken intimacy from Claude, she's involved with a troublesome boy called Mark, who may have had a had in a neighbours M**der.
There's a solid appearance from The L Word star Leisha Hailey as punk-rocker Lucy, from whom Claude learns to be much more open with her queer sexuality as the two girls begin expressing their desire for each other against the backdrop of 90s NYC.
At its heart, the film is quite a touching meditation on adolescent friendship, the ways in which conflicting desires and changing priorities can pull us apart as we grow into ourselves!
