About this Event
This audition time is for percussion applicants who want to be considered for either Conservatory Orchestra or Young Artists Orchestra. (If you're interested in auditioning for SE, AS, or play a different instrument, please select a time from the other link at dyao.org/get-involved.)
- Conservatory Orchestra (CO): ensemble for students who want to advance their orchestral performance skills and for progression into YAO or collegiate programs. For musicians between the ages of 10 and 18.
- Young Artists Orchestra (YAO): most advanced ensemble for musicians between the ages of 12 and 23.
Your audition will have 2-3 judges in the room (usually the conductors of the orchestras). If you are auditioning for more than one orchestra, you will be expected to prepare for the higher-level orchestra's excerpts, solo, scale(s), and sight-reading.
