Be a part of the DYAO Legacy! Audition for one of our 3 ensembles: String Ensemble, Conservatory Orchestra, or the Young Artists Orchestra.About this Event
This audition time is for applicants who want to be considered for either String Ensemble or Conservatory Orchestra. (If you're interested in auditioning for YAO, please select a different date.)
- String Ensemble Orchestra (SE): designed for string players who have developed facility in bowing techniques, reading music, and using vibrato. For musicians between the ages of 7 and 13.
- Conservatory Orchestra (CO): ensemble for students who want to advance their orchestral performance skills and for progression into YAO or collegiate programs. For musicians between the ages of 10 and 18.
Your audition will have 2-3 judges in the room (usually the conductors of the orchestras). If you are auditioning for more than one orchestra, you will be expected to prepare for the higher-level orchestra's excerpts, solo, scale(s), and sight-reading.
