Applying systems thinking and work design to manage psychosocial risk

19th May 2026

Facilitated by Jason van Schie

We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming lunch-and-learn session on Applying systems thinking and work design to manage psychosocial risk, presented by Jason van Schie, Founder of FlourishDx and endorsed organisational psychologist.

With Victoria’s psychosocial health legislation now in force, many organisations have taken important steps to update policies, procedures and conduct psychosocial risk assessments. The challenge for many now is how to move beyond compliance and put in place meaningful, practical controls that address psychosocial hazards and support the mental health and wellbeing of their people.

This practical and interactive session will introduce key concepts to consider when developing your control and monitoring strategy for psychosocial hazards. It will cover:

  • systems-level versus individual-level intervention considerations
  • key work design theories to consider when developing controls
  • the organisational-level controls most workplaces should have in place
  • what an effective monitoring strategy looks like

About the speaker
Jason van Schie is an endorsed organisational psychologist and Founder of FlourishDx. Since 2007, he has specialised in human factors and psychosocial risk management, helping organisations create psychologically healthy and safe workplaces. He is a recognised speaker on workplace mental health and regularly presents locally and internationally on psychological health and safety.
