About this Event

Closing Shift"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. The worst of these bands is Closing Shift, a band from the California Bay Area trying really hard to be Emo or alternative. The five piece is comprised of Bridget Hall, the lead singer, Brody Woolett on drums, Jacob LaRiza on bass and guitarists Noah Smith and Garrett Mingardi. They’re a bunch of self-loathing, narcissistic, pitiful posers, and they aren’t much more. They take inspiration from bands like My Chemical Romance, Mom Jeans, Citizen and other fake emo bands.

Chaos TheoryA dual lead vocal powerhouse blending metal, pop, and rock with ease. Formed at Diablo Valley College, the band covers your favorite 2000s alternative hits, all the way to modern metal, and reimagined pop songs. With remarkable vocalists delivering soul-piercing performances, their music is enhanced by blistering guitar leads, heavy rhythmic guitar work, and powerful drum and bass lines. Chaos Theory is primed to be an unforgettable presence in the Bay Area music scene.

CicadaEmo shoegaze... Emogaze? That's how you could describe Cicada. A six piece East Bay band made up of Robyn Moody on bass, Ethan Mullen on drums, El on lead guitar, Kylar on rhythm guitar, Landen Dow and Isa Wetzel as co-singers. Together they strive to make as much bug-like music as possible and convert as many people to their buggy ways as they can. Their tunes will ring in your ear like the pestilent call of a Cicada, loud and arguably annoying. Bug out

FreefallFreefall is an eclectic band, resistant to labels. Though each member comes with their own musical inspirations, this plays to their strengths: A gravitational pull like no other that allows them to orbit in an uninhibited flow of multi-genre ecstasy. When lead vocalist Claire, vocalist and guitarist Raheen, the mysterious guitarist Evrim, and bassist Curtis came together to form a band, they realized their unique style and mellow synergy was like few other. After summoning keyboardist Ethan from the lost dimension of Moraga, and kidnapping drumming prodigy Will from his home in Arizona, they were all set to groove on mellow R&B, energetic alt rock, tight rhythms, and light harmonies. So, put on your parachute and fall with them— in style.
