About this Event
Duty to Warn is a whistleblower's call to protect families, exposing systemic failures within U.S. family law and child protection systems that leave children and families at risk. It combines professional expertise, research, and lived experience to show how laws, ethics, and prevention duties are often ignored — especially in high-conflict and high-risk cases.
The documentary focuses on several core issues:
- Parental alienation — emotional manipulation that turns children against a parent without justified cause
- Systemic failures — including orders being ignored, abuse going unreported, and gaps in child protection
- Profit over prevention — a costly litigation cycle that rewards conflict instead of resolution
The Empowerment Community, in partnership with leading family law advocates and survivors, is producing this comprehensive documentary and pilot program to expose gaps, highlight solutions, share expert perspectives, and inspire systemic change across the United States. It will include interviews with judges, mental health professionals, legal experts, and survivors.
There is also an accompanying book of the same name, with the key message that many tragedies in family court are identifiable, predictable, and preventable when systems act on their duty to warn and protect.
Notably, a related conference — "Solutions for Family Court Reform 2026" — is scheduled for April 10–12, 2026, to be held at The Grand America and Little America in Salt Lake City, UT, offered both in person and virtually.
