About this Event
Rels i Records (Roots and Memories) is a concert project by soprano Laura de la Fuente and pianist-composer Llorenç Prats. The programme explores the rich cultural connections between Catalan, Spanish, and Italian music and literature, reflecting on themes of roots, memory, and nature — particularly flowers — which serve as recurring poetic and musical symbols.
By interweaving works from the 19th to the 21st century, the programme creates a dialogue between tradition and modernity. The duo combines traditional art songs with contemporary creations, offering the audience an emotionally charged journey across Mediterranean cultural landscapes. Each performance is enriched with short spoken introductions, providing some historical and artistic context.
This concert forms part of our 'Festival of International Artists'. Now in its third year, Hughes Hall music, working alongside the Cambridge University Alumni Festival, and our own Alumni team, host a series of concerts performed by world class artists from Europe and the UK.
We recommend booking early as demand last year was high and there are limited seats available so that we maintain the intimacy of the events here in the Pavilion Room at Hughes.
