About this Event
In 2023, two Canadian musicians were awarded second prize in the Prix Ravel at Fontainebleau presented by the Maurice Ravel Foundation. The duo, comprised of Berlin-based violinist, Albert Steinberger, and Montréal-based pianist, Dane Ko, was formed at the prestigious Fontainebleau academy in France that once hosted the likes of Ravel, Poulenc, and Saint-Saens. In the inspiring setting of the Chateau, Albert and Dane quickly discovered a symbiotic musical partnership while immersed in a summer festival devoted to French music. The duo is excited to make their debut appearances in Canada with a program of French and German sonatas, including their prize-winning interpretation of the Ravel “Blues”.
