After a powerful performance in Makhanda that left audiences wanting more, the Umngqungqo Orchestral Experience returns to Gqeberha for its third annual staging — a majestic evening where music meets memory, and tradition meets orchestral excellence.
This year’s theme, AFRICAN ROYALTY, invites you to step into a space where our heritage is honoured, our identity is celebrated, and our artistry is crowned.
Led by renowned baritone Dumza Maswana, and featuring a 20-piece orchestra and choir, this production is a deeply African celebration of culture, sound, and spirit. With arrangements by Sakhile Simani (Conductor) and Mthokozisi Mabuza (Musical Director), expect stirring performances of brand new music, alongside favourites from Dumza’s acclaimed albums MOLO and Celebrating African Song.
More than a concert, Umngqungqo is an offering, it’s a regal experience where voices rise, drums speak, and Africa shines.
