About this Event
Join Irish Women in Jazz to celebrate Culture Date with Dublin 8 at Teeling Distillery!
This is our third year to partner with the Culture Date with Dublin 8 festival and we are very excited for this year’s offering.
What to expect:
Arrive at Teeling and be greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival while being serenaded with the smooth sounds of jazz standards played by some of the scene’s finest musicians; vocalist Rufina Tishina and pianist Graeme Bourke.
Begin the Teeling Distillery whiskey tour and be accompanied along the way by live music and video. A short video will welcome you in the screening area, before moving into the distillery itself and where you will hear some experimental and ambient sounds with Yuzuha O’Halloran on saxophone and effects. Arrive at Bang Bang where the mainstage and bar area creates a jazz club vibe you simply haven’t experienced yet! Performing ‘DUETS’, a live album originally recorded in 1987 by jazz legends Carmon McRae and Betty Carter, the band will hit you with some swinging jazz standards and some smooth ballads, interspersed with high energy improvisations.
Jennifer McMahon and Rufina Tishina will be honouring these two great jazz vocalists alongside Hugh Denman on drums, Eoin O’Halloran on double bass and Graeme Burke on piano. This is the first time this project is being presented and you want to be there! Sip some delicious drinks at the bar, shake a tail feather and enjoy the jam session after the main act, to keep the night going. If you’re a musician, bring your instrument along, we’ll be delighted to welcome you onstage!
Book your tickets now- these are going to go fast!
