Peer-led Support Group—a safe space to nurture your healing journey and connect with fellow survivors of domestic abuse & sexual violence
About this Event

Peer-led Survivor Support Group

For survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence

Journey beyond surviving, connect with fellow survivors, and take your next step on your healing journey alongside people who share similar lived experiences.

Our Dublin Survivor Support Group brings survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence together once per month in a safe, supportive and survivor-led space. These groups offer an opportunity to connect with others who genuinely understand, and to build meaningful, supportive connections at your own pace.

What you can expect:
  • Safe & intentionally small space
A welcoming, calm and non-judgemental environment with no more than 12 fellow survivors per group.
  • Lightly structured
Our trained facilitators gently guide the beginning and end of each group, leaving space in between for organic connection and conversation.
  • Participant-led
There is no pressure to share beyond what you are comfortable with. Your presence is valued, and you can participate in whatever way feels right for you.
  • Group guidelines
We follow light group guidelines. For example, participants agree not to share detailed accounts of their lived experiences, instead using a “headlines” approach. This helps reduce the risk of triggering for both yourself and others.
  • Secure, discreet and neutral venue
We never share the location of our groups publicly, and there is no external signage indicating the nature of the group. Exact location details are shared privately after the registration process is complete.
  • Venue parking and transport
Our venue has ample parking (no charge) and is well connected to public transport.
  • Intentionally informal
It is completely normal to feel nervous or apprehensive before attending your first support group. You can expect a calm, non-formal setting. Participants are welcomed by one of our facilitators and offered a cup of tea or coffee to help you settle in.

We are honoured to hold this space for you and look forward to welcoming you.
