The Mixing Mediums - Workshop Series is instructed by our wonderfully talented artist and instructor, Jess Hughes of Vibrant Hughes. This is a 5 class workshop series, each class is 2 hours in length and offered at the Currents studio. Each class focuses on a different art medium and instruction flows from examples of Jess' personal art works. This workshop series is geared toward folks 15 years of age through adulthood.Dry Mediums: This workshop teaches the basic skills for drawing and blending with both oil based and chalk based pastels, using a four-eyed cat as a visual example. The class will go over the importance of colour theory, how to achieve
realistic shadows and highlights, how to blend effectively to create natural looking forms, and how to detail on top to achieve the desired outcomes. This tutorial will be done in full colour, and 15 minutes for questions will be provided towards the end of the workshop. This workshop is designed for those 15 years old through adulthood.
