Try your hand at “dry dyeing” with Alexandra Beaumont.Participants will fold, pinch, and stitch cloth pieces then apply pigments to create colorful shapes and patterns. Think of it as a cross between tie-dye and crayon rubbing.
This experiment is adaptable to many ages and abilities, though recommended for ages 6+. Some damp pigmented materials may be used, so dress accordingly.
Alexandra Beaumont is a textile artist and dancer working in fabric and movement to explore personal and collective joy, celebration, and expansion. Her handmade banners reference the visual, kinetic, and metaphoric elements of parades through collaged cloth portraits of celebrants in movement.
Event will take place in the Camp du Nord Dining Hall - 3594 North Arm Rd. (park in the North Arm Trail parking lot) - and is open to du Nord book your own getaway campers and Ely locals!
