We are excited to welcome Epizo Bangoura back to Nelson, a living rhythm legend whose beats span continents and generations. These workshops usually only happen in the big cities due to travel costs ... but this workshop is right here in sunny Nelson. Epizo was here in Nov 2025 for a sold out workshop (Thanks Nelson!!!), and he had so much fun he has agreed to come back. 1pm - 2.30pm will be a drumming workshop, open to all levels and abilities. ($30)
3pm - 4.30pm is an African dance workshop, again open to all levels and abilities ($30)

Epizo's rhythm journey began early. He mastered instruments like the djembe and balafon under the guidance of his father, and by the time he reached France in 1984 and later in New York in the early 1990's, he was already weaving traditional West African grooves with urban global energy.
