Dear dharma friends,on behalf of the organizers from Bön Garuda we would like to invite you to a winter Dzogchen teaching on Eight Chapters of Pith Instructions with Drubdra Khenpo Tenzin Tsultrim from the Bonist monastery Triten Norbutse in Kathmandu, which will take place in the Southern Bohemia, Czech Republic, in the center of the Czech Dzogchen community Phendeling.
✨Eight Chapters of Pith Instructions
Drubdra Khenpo is expected to teach a very important text known as the Eight Chapters of Pith Instructions (Man ngag le'u brgyad pa). The instructions come from the collection The Oral Transmission of Dzogchen from Zhang Zhung (rDzogs pa chen po zhang zhung snyan rgyud), which were written after the third meeting of Tapihritsa and Nangzher Löpo on the island of Lake Dangra in northern Tibet. Nangzher Löpo was then meditating in a hermitage when Tapihritsa appeared in the sky to reveal to him the teaching of absolute meaning (nges don). This type of teaching is considered the quintessence of all the teachings of the bön and the pinnacle of Dzogchen itself.
Thus, as far as content is concerned, the teachings imparted in Tapihritsa's instructions clearly belong to the secret instructions of the dzogchen series (man ngag sde), which contains the quintessence of all teachings. Their main pillars are two practices, tregcho (khregs chod) and tögal (thod rgal), which stabilize and develop the primordial state of mind (gnas lugs). Thus, the Eight Chapters deal with the unconcealed vision of phenomena and focus on the direct acquaintance of the adept with the so-called naked vision of rigpa (rig pa gcer mthong), i.e., one's own vision of the primordial state of consciousness.

The teaching will take place from January 21 to 26, 2025.

*The first day of the seminar will start with the afternoon session and the last day will end with the morning session. Schedule can be changed.
The number of participants is limited due to the capacity of the venue, so please register as soon as possible.
The teaching will be streamed via ZOOM and a recording will be made for retreat participants. We will send the link before the seminar.
Who is Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrin Tenzin Rinpoche?
Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche is the abbot of the meditation school (sgrub grva), which focuses on study and meditation according to the main Dzogchen texts, at the Triten Norbutse Buddhist monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal. Drubdra Khenpo has been teaching throughout Europe since 2012 and has visited the Czech Republic several times. During his visits, he has mainly imparted Dzogchen teachings based on the collection of texts The Oral Transmission of Dzogchen from Zhangzhung.
Regular donation for participation (in person and online via Zoom): 3000 CZK = 120 Euro
Supporter fee donation (in person and online via Zoom): 4000 CZK = 160 Euro
Partial participance is not allowed.
Meals:
300 CZK / day; for the whole seminar 1 800,- CZK
It will not be possible to use the kitchen for individual cooking as the kitchen will be fully booked.
Accommodation in Phendeling:
300 CZK / 1 night in a dormitory; for the whole seminar 1 800 CZK
250 CZK / 1 night in a gonpa; for the whole seminar 1500 CZK
To book a place to stay, please fill in the form below; the number of dormitory places is limited. In case of sleeping in the gonpa, please bring your own sleeping bag - matrasses and carimates are available there. In the dormitory you need your own blanket and bed cloths or sleeping bag.
