Yukonstruct is proud to offer our Drone Mania: Summer Break Camps! Participating youth will have the opportunity to design, print, wire and build their own 3D printed micro-drone through a series of exciting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities. They'll learn to use Yukonstruct's rapid prototyping machines, spend time working with tools in our workshops, and more. This year, one session is being offered:
July 13th - 17th, 2026
A highly interactive and engaging curriculum will encourage your children to build knowledge and confidence in 3-D modelling and printing, electronics and circuitry, applying practical mathematics and physics to designs, and using iterations to improve design efficiency! This course will encourage your children to try a range of new things and think outside the box, building self confidence and resilience as they work towards constructing their very own drone to take home!
With a passion for youth and science, our Maker Mentors recognize the uniqueness of your child and fosters their creative side and joy for STEAM. Maker Mentors are trained to have students focus on the why and discover the logic behind the activity instead of following a prescriptive set of instructions. With a 4 to 1 child to staff ratio and a focus on collaborative problem solving our classes are designed for your child to actively participate.
9:00am - 3:30pm, early drop off at 8:30am. Please ensure your child comes with a lunch, lots of snacks and clothes that can get dirty. Closed-toe shoes are also essential. At times when working in the metal shop, clothes made in a natural fiber (cotton, wool, linen, denim, etc.) will be required as synthetic fibers and decorations (polyester, acrylic, nylon, etc.) may melt and pose a risk.
This program is for children ages 12-15.
This camp is powered by Northwestel.
