This September, Disability:IN North Texas will host its Q3 event in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging open conversations about a critical issue that often remains overlooked. Suicide Prevention Month serves as an important reminder that mental health is health, and collective action can save lives. To guide this discussion, we are honored to welcome the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) North Texas Chapter, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. AFSP engages in groundbreaking research, educational programs, advocacy, and support for survivors of suicide loss.
We are also privileged to partner with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) North Texas, the largest grassroots mental health organization in the U.S., committed to building better lives for individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI North Texas provides education, support, and advocacy to promote understanding and improve access to resources in our communities.
Together, these organizations will share their expertise, resources, and stories to shed light on the realities of suicide prevention, breaking down stigma and creating space for meaningful dialogue. This event is designed to not only inform but also inspire action within workplaces and communities. Our goal is to promote awareness, highlight available resources, and encourage corporate leaders and community members alike to take part in this important movement. By joining this conversation, attendees will walk away better equipped to support employees, colleagues, families, and friends — and to help bring this critical issue out of the shadows
