About this Event
This half-day class will give you the perfect introduction to sewing with stretch fabrics. Knickers are quick and easy, aswell as lots of fun to make!
We will teach you everything you need to know to make your own knickers including:
- accurately measure yourself
- choose a size
- trace your pattern
- cut your fabric
Then we will teach you some of the basic sewing techniques you will need to use when making your own clothing including:
- sewing accurate seam allowances
- how to finish your seams
- how to topstitch elastic
All materials will be provided and you will be able to take your pattern away with you to make more at home.
It's a good idea to wear something fitted that you can measure over, like leggings and a fitted tank top for example.
Supplied: fabric, elastic, notions, large cutting table, rotary cutters, electric scissors and dressmaking shears, along with our array of modern sewing machines, overlockers , tea and coffee.
Please no not bring additional sewing machines and overlockers.
