Dreams speak in images, symbols, and emotional truth, often carrying guidance the conscious mind has overlooked. This three hour experiential workshop introduces Jungian dream work as a way of cultivating a living relationship with the inner life, supporting psychological growth, creativity, and inner authority.Dreams arise from the psyche as symbolic communications carrying meaning, guidance, and psychological intelligence. They invite relationship rather than explanation. When approached with care and imagination, dreams become an ongoing dialogue with the inner world and a source of insight and creative activation.
This workshop is informed by depth psychology and the writings of James Hollis, blending foundational teaching with direct experiential practices.
In this workshop, participants will:
• Learn how dreams communicate through symbol, analogy, and personal association
• Work with dream imagery through contemplation, immersion, listening, and activation
• Engage dream symbols through active imagination, visualization, meditation, and reflective dialogue
• Hold dream images in awareness, sense them somatically, and allow meaning to emerge through direct experience
Participants will learn to:
• Develop a grounded approach to dream interpretation and psychological meaning
• Understand different types of dreams including processing, compensatory, archetypal, and precognitive dreams
• Read dreams both objectively and subjectively, knowing when to attend to outer context and when to interpret the dream as an inner psychological drama
• Work with the analytic process of confession, interpretation, reeducation, and transformation
• Identify what aspect of the psyche or life is seeking attention, correction, or development
• Integrate dream imagery into meditation and creative expression through writing, drawing, or other creative forms
Participants will leave with a deeper, embodied relationship with dreams as a source of inner dialogue and guidance, practical tools for engaging dream material, greater confidence in symbolic thinking, and an integrative process that supports insight, creativity, and psychological integration.
