A Black feminist visioning session where Black mothers and birthing people gather to imagine futures shaped by rest, joy, and dignity.
About this Event

TO REGISTER, (TICKETS THROUGH EVENTBRITE WILL NOT BE COUNTED).

This event is a two hour long community visioning session to reimagine what investment in Black mothers could look like in Central Ohio. No idea is too big, no contribution too small. The first step to rectifying a broken, dysfunctional system is imagining the possibilities for change.

Join us April 15 to share your thoughts, ideas, and feelings about your journey through pregnancy and beyond. If you could go back, what would you make sure you had?

This event is put on by the Mother's Trust Alliance, an up-and-coming organization in Columbus, Ohio, committed to closing gaps in reproductive and economic outcomes for Black brithing people and their families. Dreaming New Worlds Together is one event of many that MTA wants to put on in order to gain feedback from the community of what is needed, wanted, and dreamed of for Black birthing people going through their pregnancy journey today and tomorrow.

Who is this event for?

Dreamer (Co-Designer): Dreamers are Black birthing people and those closest to pregnancy, parenting, and caregiving, including parents, caregivers, aunties, grandmothers, and community members supporting families. Dreamers bring lived experience, wisdom, and vision that are essential to shaping what safety, dignity, rest, and joy can look like in the lives of families and communities. A $100 VISA gift card will be provided to honor their time and contributions. Space for Dreamers (40 spots) is limited to support a meaningful and supportive experience.

Community Collaborator: Community Collaborators are individuals joining through an organization, institution, or professional role. Many may also have lived experience. In this space, they are participating in a professional or organizational capacity to learn, contribute, and support the work. Representatives of organizations will not receive compensation for participating in this event.
