About this Event
This Dream Yoga Virtual Reality experience was designed and developed to simulate lucid dreaming contemplative sleep practices in virtuality. Drawn from Tibetan Buddhist dream yoga manuals from the 11th- to the 17th-centuries that describe how to perform lucid dreaming, this Virtual Reality meditation synchronizes two distinct experiences: first, the hypnogogic processes of training in the dream body and dream world; and second, practicing the techniques of dream yoga. Leveraging Virtual Reality technology, the experience optimizes a minimal aesthetic with heightened plasticity to loosen grasping on ordinary perceptions, cultivate psychological flexibility, and induce high lucidity across the thresholds of dreaming and waking.
A collaboration between the CIRCL, Contemplative Innovation + Research Co-Lab at the Contemplative Sciences Center, University of Virginia and Numadelic Labs.
Experience times are by invitation only and are limited to 6-persons per session.
