About this Event
*This is an 8 week class for participants 60+ as a part of our Creative Aging program, sponsored by the Wyoming Arts Council.
Drawn to Life is an eight-week course for older adults embracing creativity that teaches the fundamentals of observational drawing while emphasizing atmosphere through urban sketching. Participants will learn fundamental drawing skills such as line, perspective, light and shadow, and color, and will use these skills to create artistic representations of their everyday surroundings.
Each session builds on previously learned techniques and concepts, while leaving room for experimentation, planning, and reflection throughout.
The class encourages new ways of seeing everyday environments, building confidence in artistic abilities, and exploring personal narratives through sketching and watercolor. The final project will culminate into an accordion-fold artwork that showcases each participant’s summer experience across six pages, resulting in a tangible, creative work that reflects their growth and perspective while contributing to a shared sense of community and engagement.
