Drawing THE Masters' HUMAN FIGURE on TRACING PAPER - (WTDP72-0120)

Every week we are drawing the human figure (complete or in parts) from artworks from the past. This time on TRACING PAPER
About this Event

Have you ever drawn free hand on tracing paper? I don't mean to trace a figure laying underneath but drawing directly, as if you are drawing on a regular drawing paper. Why do we want to do this? Why when drawing a human figure? Join our class to have the answer and some others to questions you may have.

The activities timing today will be different than usual.

FOR THIS CLASS YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE two sheets of tracing paper, A4 to A3 size. That is 8x12 in to 12x16 in. 2B and 6B Graphite Pencils. Erasers (kneaded and regular pencil eraser). Shapener. White paper of the same size of your tracing papers. Drawing board or hard surface to draw on. Clip holders or making tape.

------------------------------

Every week, same day same time, we are drawing THE HUMAN FIGURE based on past achievements, a whole body or details (i.e. portraits, hands, feet). There is a brief explanation to start, some tips of what to focus on, to help construct the figure.
Our models and objects of study are drawings, paintings and sculptures from past centuries in a tutored class. Usually we draw two or three different images and poses, with different lengths of time.

------------------------------
Depeding on the class, we may be trying different materials or ways to approach the female and male figures.

Generally, If you are a beginning student I suggest using willow charcoal or 6B graphite pencil/stick to start and A3 size (29,7 x 42,0 cm // 11.7 x 16.5 in) papers on a hard surface as a drawingboard, an eraser (kneadead and/or regular rubber for pencil), a piece of cotton fabric to clean and a sharpener. If you draw with charcoal, you need a fixative when it's finished. Later we'll see other options. If you are more experienced, you can choose the materials you want to work with, though (i.e. ink applied with brush and nib, fountain pen, etc).

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Before doing our own great drawings or paintings we need to study what the artists that came before us did in the past, those wonderful pieces teach us big lessons, so let's learn from the masters and their artwork.

------------------------------------------

- --------------------------------------------

WAYS TO DRAW and Paint are a series of art classes online, especially for beginning + intermediate students and anyone who wants to learn different ways of drawing and painting, since there isn't only one, as there isn't only one way to do things in life. In each class we will be experimenting with different subjects and media: (i.e. graphite, colored pencils , pastels, charcoal, ball and fountain pens, markers, gouache, acrylics, etc.)

The classes contents are never repeated. They are live on Zoom. They are in English but some Spanish can be spoken too.
