his is an immersive experience that combines guided meditation, breath awareness, intuitive mark making, and slow seeing. The workshop invites participants to slow down, release expectations, and reconnect with the creative process as a source of presence, insight, and inner calm. Through a variety of drawing materials and guided mark making exercises, participants discover how drawing can become a meditative, healing, and transformative practice. No art experience needed. Materials used include charcoal, graphite and soft pastels. Gloves can be provided if needed.
About the instructor
Maureen O’Neill is the director of exhibitions and educational programming for the Barton College Art Galleries and assistant professor of art in the Department of Art, Barton College. In addition to her classes at Barton College, she leads workshops in drawing meditation and pastel drawing at the NCMA and Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center, Abiquiu, NM.
