Art is a tool that changes how children see themselves. Each young artist will name a problem, and then draw themselves as the hero that can fix it. To demonstrate, Gene will ask the class to pick a problem and for ideas about how that hero solves the problem.
Gene Ha is the writer and artist of the graphic novel ๐๐ข๐ฆ: ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฆ๐ง๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ท๐ฆ ๐๐ฅ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ from Oni Press. He has won five Eisners, the highest award in American comics, for his art on titles like ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ช๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ข: ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ป๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, and ๐๐ฐ๐ฑ 10 with writer Alan Moore. Registration fee includes materials for art project that participants will take home, plus admission to the Alex Ross: Heroes and Villains ticketed exhibition.
Program will take place in the North Shore Gas Education Classroom.
