A self-taught pianist rooted in marabi, blues and modern jazz traditions, his music reflects the deep soul and resilience of South Africa’s acoustic jazz heritage.
Dr Mbambisa will be joined by an exceptional trio of musicians:
Buddy Wells – saxophone, one of South Africa’s most expressive and respected jazz voices
Nick Ford – bass, a dynamic and in-demand bassist with a strong melodic sensibility
Babes Ndamase – drums, a master drummer known for his drive, sensitivity and deep groove
