In 1856, Liscrona House was designed by the renowned architect, James Pain for the MacDonnell landlords. Pain also designed Dromoland Castle, Lough Cutra Castle and countless bridges and churches.Paul’s highly illustrated lecture will reveal insights into the planning and design of Liscrona and profile its occupants over the years.
The fascinating building accounts, materials, and fitting out cost of Liscrona were recently rediscovered as part of a much larger archive, in the attic of a house on the North Circular Road in Limerick.
