About this Event
Frederick Knight is a professor of history at Morehouse College. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on African American and African Diasporic history. He is also the author of Working the Diaspora: The Impact of African Labor on the Anglo?American World, 1650-1850 (NYU Press, 2010), which examines the role of African material culture and work practices in American economic development. His second book, Black Elders: The Meaning of Age in American Slavery and Freedom, has been included in Publishers Weekly’s Spring 2024 list for history and was released by the University of Pennsylvania Press this February. He is also a proud graduate of Morehouse College, class of 2002.
Ras Michael Brown, Ph.D. – Associate Professor in the Department of History at Georgia State University. Dr. Brown's research engages the historical development of religions and cultures in the African Diaspora with special emphasis on the dispersal of Bantu people and cultures throughout the Atlantic World.
