In Memory of Dr. Donna Comrie
Dr. Donna Comrie was an educator, entrepreneur, mentor and friend. A fierce advocate for underrepresented children and champion for access to education, she dedicated her career as a school principal to serving kids’ needs.
Dr. Comrie held a bachelor’s degree in education from Penn State University, a master’s degree in international service from the University of Surrey-Roehampton, and a Principal of Education certificate from Cheyney University. After earning a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from FIU in 2013, she returned as a post-doctoral researcher with the FIU Metropolitan Center and adjunct professor in the FIU Department of Public Policy and Administration. She was also an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University.
She later launched Comrie Consulting to support the performance and financial needs of schools and nonprofit organizations; and she later founded MathTech 360, an online instructional program that works with individual learning styles to help minority children succeed in mathematics.
Dr. Comrie died in December 2018, aged 42, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
