Dr. Dennis C. Dickerson is the Reverend James Lawson Chair in History, Emeritus, and a Professor of History, Emeritus, at Vanderbilt University, where he's taught since 1999. Previously, he held the Stanfield Professorship of History at Williams College. Dr. Dickerson earned his B.A. from Lincoln University, an M.A. and Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.Div. from Vanderbilt University.
