Slight Location Update: DC DPW’s Special Waste Collection Event, scheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2025, will now take place at RFK Stadium's Parking Lot 8 (it was previously scheduled for Lot 3).
To help attendees navigate to this new, larger location on the other side of RFK, please follow the posted signs to "Lot 8", which is accessible off of Independence Ave SE. The GPS coordinates to the entrance of Lot 8 are 38.888049, -76.971237.
Event staff will be stationed at the old location to direct attendees to the event's new location.

Join us for the DC Department of Public Works (DPW) Special Waste Collection Events, where you can safely dispose of or recycle your household hazardous waste, electronics, and secure documents.
To accommodate everyone safely and in a timely manner, DPW now requires registration to participate in the Special Waste Collection Events.
Sign up below for one 15-minute arrival period. You may arrive at any time during this period. Your arrival period is not a reservation. If there is a line upon arrival, please join it, and DPW will work to process everyone as quickly as possible.
Only one ticket is required per vehicle. Entry is not allowed before 10:00 a.m. or after 2:00 p.m.
Open to DC residents only. Please bring proof of residency (e.g., a driver's license, utility bill, or lease agreement) and your Eventbrite registration. Have your ID and registration ready upon arrival. A DC resident must be present in every vehicle that arrives.

Safety Tips

- Join the line when you arrive and remain in your vehicle at all times
- Remove personal items from your trunk when dropping off special waste.
- Follow the instructions from all DPW crew members.
- Put away electronic devices to avoid distractions while driving.
- If you have bottles of corrosive materials to dispose of, such as corrosive cleaning solutions, ensure they are closed securely to prevent leakage during transport and prevent spilling onto you or event staff. You may need to tape the lids down to keep the materials enclosed.
