Grab 3 of your friends and create a team and join the fun! You have been selected as a contestant for York's first downtown Amazing Race. Register your team here: https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/York/DowntownYorksAmazingRace. Cost is $25 per team of 4 to register, and we are asking each team to raise $200 in sponsorships from your family and friends. The team leader can register, and other team members can register separately. Join the fun with a creative team name. The team organizer will need to pay the $25 registration fee and other members of the team will not be charged. Similar to the television show, you will be doing mental, physical, and creative challenges over approximately a 3-4 hour period. The race will be on foot and you will not always need all team members to perform tasks, but sometimes you might. You will not know where you are going or what tasks you will be performing until you arrive. You will need to utilize your teams skills to race to the finish line.
We are raising money for future arts and cultural events in downtown York to be given in grants to bring back some of the great events prior to Covid like King Street Jam, Plein Air York, and maybe some new events like Arts, Beats and Eats, or some new amazing event.
George Street will be closed and an after party will be held in the street with live music. Volunteers are needed to help at each stop and you can contact [email protected] with subject line Volunteer and let us know if you can help.
Prizes are given for the team with the most creative team name and attire, first to cross the finish line, and team that raises the most money in donations for the cause.
Please be at the starting line at The Handsome Cab at 11:30 AM. The Race starts at noon and will start without you if you are late.
