Sure, you know dahntahn Pittsburgh, but do you really know the stories of the city? Meet up with the authors of the new book "100 Things to Do in Pittsburgh Before You Die" for a walking tour of the Golden Triangle that'll unveil fascinating facts sure to surprise even the most diehard yinzers. We'll visit seven places featured in the book and share lots of interesting tales as we stroll. Expect a leisurely two-mile walk with plenty of opportunities to make some new friends along the way.
The tour will be held on Saturday, June 6. We'll meet at the Point State Park fountain at 10:45am and end at Chinatown Inn at 12:30pm for a book signing and an opportunity for lunch (food to be purchased on your own). Your $30 ticket includes walking tour admission and a signed copy of the book. Guests must register in advance online, walk-ups cannot be accommodated.
Meet your guides (and authors!)
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Francesca Dabecco and Rossilynne Skena Culgan grew up in different parts of the region but both found themselves so compelled by their hometown that they made careers writing about it. They combine local expertise with the spirit of discovery. With this book as your guide, you won’t miss a thing on your quest to make memories in the ‘Burgh.
Francesca is the newsletter editor for City Cast Pittsburgh. She’s also written for the Incline, NEXTpittsburgh, Pittsburgh City Paper, Public Source, TribLIVE, and All-Abilities Media.
Rossilynne wrote the second edition of this book while living in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, then enlisted Francesca’s help for this edition after moving to New York City where she works as a writer and editor. She’s written about her beloved hometown for Saveur Magazine, Thrillist, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and Pittsburgh City Paper.
