We invite you to join us on 1/28 @ 2PM for a leisurely Saturday afternoon enriched by unique art & culture during a special edition of the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project walking tour! This FREE tour will be lead by the projects curator Jill Weissberg during the inaugural ArtHollywood series taking place as part of The 5th Annual Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week (#FTLADW23)! The ArtHollywood Weekend is a collaboration between the Hollywood Art & Culture Center, Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week, Choose954, The Hollywood CRA, and local participating artists/galleries.
The tour will meet and start from Anniversary Park In Downtown Hollywood (Corner Of NE 20th & Hollywood Blvd).
The Downtown Hollywood Mural Project is a collection of curated outdoor murals by both local, national and internationally recognized artists presented by the CRA of Hollywood. Attendees get to learn first hand about the DHMP artists from the curator that coordinated all of the murals, including signature public art works from the likes of The London Police, Ernesto Maranje, Kenny Scharf, The TM Sisters, Nice’n Easy, Yuhmi Collective, Fabio Onrack, Key Detail, Alice Mizrachi, Stephanie Melissa, Rob Robi, Nate Dee, Joel Blenz, DaveL, Milagros Collective, Beau Stanton, Evoca1, Hoxxoh, Ivan Roque, Grabster, Diana Contreras and meet our newest muralist Carley Cavanaugh!
As part of the inaugural ArtHollywood weekend on Saturday 1/28, interested attendees will be able to explore local artists studios, demos, gallery exhibitions, special pop-up exhibits including The Revolving Museum, and MORE! The series of events kicks off on Friday 1/27 at the Hollywood Art & Culture Center with a special reception including a tour of the 2022 Florida Biennial Exhibition lead by curator Meaghan Kent. Attendees that evening will be able to pick up a special map outlining the participating artists and locations taking place in ArtHollywood the following day. You can find more information here.
Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week (1/21-1/29/2023) is a result of the desire to unite all of Broward County's artists and arts & cultural institutions in an effort to highlight all that the county has to offer through an annual self-guided tour and celebration of everything art and culture throughout the Greater Fort Lauderdale area with the ultimate goal of establishing Fort Lauderdale as an international cultural destination.
The week helps showcase the vast amount of cultural opportunities Broward County has to offer residents, collectors, dealers, art enthusiasts and visitors and also be a platform for research and promotion of the arts, its relationship to the community and discussions over contemporary art trends in the areas of the Arts, Architecture, Cinema, Dance, Music, and Theater. This week will also help promote diversity, bring neighbors into dialogue, increase creativity, and offer opportunities to cultivate civic pride.
