With the days becoming longer, and Spring just around the corner, we are delighted to offer you this opportunity to travel behind a pair of Class 37’s from the East Midlands to the Firth of Tay, positioning you perfectly for our BWC4 charter which starts the following day.Starting from Peterborough at a relaxed mid-morning departure time, our Class 57/3 will whisk us across to Leicester where the fun really begins. Here, 2 x EPR Class 37s working in multiple (one will be a 37/4), will leave around lunchtime, heading for Dundee. Our route is particuarly interesting, especially for a Class 37/4, with the freight line via Castle Donnington being covered, the North Staffs line via Uttoxeter for a further pick-up, and then onwards to Crewe and Preston to collect additional passengers. It is now time for the epic journey North via the WCML with fast running allowing the Class 37’s to clear their throats as we make some serious Tractor noise tackling both Shap and Beattock, before heading into the Scottish lowlands. We are sure to create some excitement and interest throughout the spectactular Lune Gorge as we head through it. We have requested leg stretches at both Preston and Carlisle to enable you to get some treasured photos of the engines that are powering our train.
Our arrival into Dundee in the early evening, gives you the opportunity to spend the evening with friends and family exploring the City known as the "City of Discovery". Whether its having a walk around to explore its rich mix of history, design, and natural beauty, or visiting one of the many historic pubs or modern redeveloped waterfront restaurants, your time here will not be a disappointment.
A Buffet car service of drinks, snacks and light refreshments will be available, along with the now customary real ale bar.
All profits from this fixture will be for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH).
The perfect start to the BWC4 weekend - book soon as we expect this fixture to be in high demand!
