DOWN THE LEES
Down the Lees, initially Laura Lee Schultz's solo project in Vancouver, evolved into a 3 piece live band during her time in Belgium. With three albums and an EP spanning various genres, the trio embarked on a European tour in 2020, captivating audiences with 'Bury The Sun,' recorded by Steve Albini. Amidst the pandemic, they regrouped in the Okanagan Valley with Chris Carlson on bass and Andy Ashley on drums. Shared/sharing stages with notable acts (Brutus, Dead Bob (NoMeansNo, Chastity) and secured the Best Song award at the Okanagan Screen Awards 2023 for "Douse." Their EP "DIRT”, produced by Jesse Gander of Raincity Recorders (Brutus, Japandroids), releases May 3, 2024 on Off White House Records.
“One of the most hauntingly heavy slabs of music you’ll encounter all year.” - Get Some Magazine
“Laura Lee's incredible performance here, that at times feels like a holy roller possession, is exquisitely over the top amazing.” - American Pancake (Douse review)

Special guests:
GADFLY
Born out of the streets of Tehran, Iran, artist Homa Khoshnavaz created her idea for Gadfly while locked away in her bedroom. Stewing in angst and misery due to the brutal treatment of women in her country, she created a strained sound by mixing her love of grunge and metal with traditional Persian scale work. After she finally got herself to Vancouver, Canada in winter 2018 she quickly assembled a band to help her flesh out the sounds she wanted to create. Her efforts culminated in the release of the debut album “Apranik” in Dec 2022 which was received to much local acclaim. Never fully satisfied, Homa along with her main collaborator Nigel Young and bass player Raine Menard continue their reign of terror as they constantly try to push their high energy, sold out performances and never let go of the idea of women, life, freedom. Keep an eye and ear out for their sophomore album "Sura" due out in summer 2024.
‘If you have an opportunity to watch them live, they truly put you in a trance with their mix of sounds.” -Discorder Magazine
