Jubilee Art Gallery, DeKalb will be hosting Doug Overton's solo capstone show as part of the completion of his MFA graduation requirements. The exhibition, “OV is the Center of Love” examines the interjection of the artist’s angry alterego, OV, into Doug’s older works of art but also into a variety of social/political environments. Growth in technique and personal expression as part of Doug’s “Art” journey is conveyed through various paintings and prints. Common among this work is a sense of urgency, frustration, and absurdity of our existence. Doug’s work is as prolific as it is prophetic. The narrative of subdued rage and indifference does have a thread of hope for the future.
