Cottonwood Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a solo exhibition for the month of September by artist Doug Mansfield: Devilish LivingFrom the Artist:
When someone takes a Devil-May-Care attitude this may suggest an individual who acts without concern of consequences. They can be perceived as overly cheerful reckless and may be defiant when it comes to social norms. This person may push beyond the established limits being excessively mischievous wicked or rebellious.
“Devilish Living” brings you brand new acrylic paintings in the Illustrative style that is reminiscent of the Life and stylings of the mid 20th century. This collection takes a Devil-May-Care attitude and uses the aesthetics of Tiki Culture inspired from the 1950’s Polynesian explosion that decorated bars and restaurants from that era.
