Synopsis

Directed by Kadaria Ahmed and written by Amy Adindu, Double Minority is a gripping political documentary that follows eight Nigerian women as they navigate the turbulent landscape of the 2023 general elections. Produced by Ishaya Bako, the film offers rare, behind-the-scenes access to campaigns fueled by conviction, resilience, and an unyielding belief in democratic change.

Featuring candidates and political figures including Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Ireti Heebah Kingibe, alongside Simi Olusola, Adeola Azeez, Hawwah Gambo, Munira Suleiman Tanimu, Joyce Daniels, and others, the documentary reveals the structural barriers women face in Nigerian politics — from intimidation and online harassment to funding gaps and institutional bias.
