Impulsively inspired by the environment around them, Dorsal is an electronic artist raised in Yorkshire, but now based in Liverpool. Sampling from the worlds of jazz, folk and world music, along with the intimate and more traditional sounds of pianos, strings and horns, his music is hypnotically driven by electronic beats accompanied by ambient textures inducing a dreamlike state. Lyrically, the music portrays harmonious dissonance, providing a journal of self-reflection that creates a cohesion in itself.
They have been played on the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and has been recently seen supporting Tom Vek at his sold out headline show at the ICA in London.
After the release of their album rewilding (2023), dorsal is back with a brand new EP, set for release in October 2025.
