About this Event
Join Native Nations Center and the Western History Collections for a workshop titled "The Doris Duke Native American Oral History Collection at OU Workshop." This workshop will give participants opportunities to listen to oral history recordings, to engage with Tribal community curation teams, and to experience archival processes like description and transcription of recordings. You will also get a brief introduction to the work being done under the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Grant to digitize and make accessible these recordings which represent almost all of the Native American Tribes in Oklahoma. Lunch will be included. A stipend will also be provided to the first 30 students or community members who sign up for and participate. This event is open to all, but space is limited. For more information email Lina Ortega at [email protected] or Evelyn Cox at [email protected].
