This trail carries a complex history connected to war and the South’s past. While we do not celebrate harmful parts of history, we believe acknowledging history honestly helps us learn, grow, and continue building more inclusive outdoor spaces.
This experience is about moving forward together while recognizing the stories connected to the land beneath our feet. We’ll discuss historical landmarks, reflect on the information shared, explore a new-to-DOPE Hike Series trail, and finish with coffee or a treat at a local coffee shop for community connection.
This hike is suitable for all ages. Families are welcome, as well as dogs on a leash.

I encourage those who are new to outdoor spaces to come try this trail, as it is beginner-friendly and accessible for all experience levels.
