Join us on Thursday 12 March for a special West Country preview of Don't Be Prey, followed by an in-person Q&A with coach Tim Denyer and swimmer Mark Sowerby.Mark Sowerby’s decade long journey through the Oceans Seven was a physical test, but it was also a study in human physiology. In Plymouth, a city at the forefront of marine and survival science, this Q&A will focus on the technical reality of what it takes to stay alive in the world's most challenging ocean channels.
The film features insights from world-renowned expert Professor Mike Tipton, who provides the clinical perspective on the risks a swimmer faces in cold water. Our discussion will explore the technical aspects of the swim: the physical vessel of the swimmer, the tactical command of the coach, and the scientific reality of the body's response to extreme environments.
We invite the local swimming, scientific, and marine communities to join us for a direct, grounded discussion about the mechanics of survival.
